Danish and especially Scandinavian lifestyle are on everyone’s lips and for sure have the moment! We were curious what a typical day for average Copenhagener’s look like: where do they live, what are they doing for a living, what are the go-to places to hang out?
We are thrilled to share with you a new episode of our CPH MOMENTS series where we follow danish citizens around their very personal Copenhagen!
A MORNING ON THE MARKET – TOVERNHALLERNE
Let us introduce you to Klara Abraham. She is a Copenhagen based chef, working at Easy Peacy – a catering service kitchen that is based in the western area of the city called Vesterbro. We meet Klara at her kitchen and follow her to her first stop of the day: The Tovernhallerne market, where we go by bike, as usual for the residents. The market is well known for its hand-picked goods and its wide selection of high quality foods.
Klara is hosting a dinner for her friends tonight, so she has to run some errands to prepare her favourite dish for tonight.
DINNER PREPARATIONS AT THE STUDIO – EASY PEACY
Back at her studio Klara is unpacking the selected goods and gets ready for cooking. She tells us about her upbringing, her passion for music and hosting and for all different kinds of food. She has never been professionally trained and most of her skills are self-taught. It’s so much fun to observe her during every step of the preparations, as she makes it seem so effortless. Klara tells us that this dish – Pasta Puttanesca – is very close to her heart and perfect to share with friends!
DINNER WITH FRIENDS
As the day comes to an end, her friends arrive to the studio. Klara prepared a very minimalistic table so the pasta and the atmosphere will be the center of attention. After a quick outfit change and fresh up she welcomes everyone and they dive into the dish and deep conversations. The room is filled with laughter and joy and we get to know what they all mean when they say that the danish people are so relaxed and casually cool.
