Hygge House Diary – Day 1
Dear Hygge House Crew,
we have a great first day behind us, filled with creativity, laughter, and, of course, that cozy atmosphere we all love. From the morning baking class to the inspiring content shoot and memorable evening, the energy was truly infectious.
A TYPICAL FINNISH PASTRY
The morning started with a baking class, where our guests learned how to make the traditional Finnish pastry, “Mustikka-karjalanpiirakka.“ The cozy atmosphere made it even more enjoyable, with everyone chatting and laughing as we baked together. Here’s the recipe so you can give it a try!
Instructions
1. Prepare the pie dough by mixing all the ingredients in a bowl. Mix until you get a smooth dough.
2. In another bowl, mix the filling ingredients except the blueberries.
3. Divide the dough into 12 pieces and roll the pieces into balls. Use a rolling pin to roll the dough balls into thin round discs.
4. Fold up the edges like a karjalan pie to make edges about 1cm high.
5. Spread the blueberries evenly over the crimped bottoms. Spread as much sour cream mixture as you can fit on top of the blueberries.
5. Bake in a 175-180°C oven for about 15 minutes.
6. Serve cooled, with a drizzle of spruce berry syrup.
HORSE RIDING
The day continued with an enchanting experience of horse riding. We also captured some content against the stunning backdrop. The warm tones of the forest, soft sunlight, and calming sounds of nature created a true sense of hygge, making the experience feel both cozy and grounding. Essential companions for the day were the branded @larsnysom_official bottles, never missing from our activities, along with branded hair clips from @jona.thelabel, which made the perfect accessory.
THE EVENING
Our day wrapped up with yet another perfect dinner. Afterward, we set off on an unforgettable journey, chasing the northern lights. The anticipation grew with each step as we scanned the horizon, hoping for a glimpse of nature’s most magical light show.
