COPENHAGEN STUDIOS GOES COPENHAGEN – CITY GUIDE & INSIDER TIPS OF INFLUENCER MARIE HINDKAER
In love with Copenhagen.
For another street style shooting we visited our home base Copenhagen during CPH Fashion Week. And again we fell in love with the streets, corners & people of this city. If you haven’t visited the heart of Denmark yet, we heartily recommend a stay in this wonderful city.
For your trip to Copenhagen, we took a look at some sights and got tips from Danish influencer Marie Hindkaer. Together with Marie, Berlin influencer Alessa Winter and street style photographer Christian Vierig aka @thestyleograph we photographed the new AW2021 collection.
CPNHGN: „Marie, what would you recommend most for a stay in CPH city?“
Marie: „The best thing you can do is to walk around without having a straight plan. Just enjoy the vibe of the city, discover small streets & places that are not mentioned in a travel guide.“
Marie: „And you have to visit the Apollo Bar next to Nyhavn, which is a museum café and restaurant. You can have the best banana bread in this great and bright atmosphere.“
Another place which belongs to the same owner is the café, project room & creative studio Atelier September which has amazing coffee and delicious breakfast. In 1987 the present café was opened as an art shop for Art Deco & Art Nouveau. On the menu you can find simple vegetarian dishes – always following the season. We tried our way through the menu & can especially recommend the pancakes.
One of the most popular spots in the city is Nyhavn – the central harbor of the Danish capital. Along the water you can find a lot of cafés and restaurants. The colorful former fishermen & store houses are not only a wonderful photo background, but are also full of history. A very special restaurant is Nyhavns Færgekro, where the traditional lunch Smørrebrød is served.
To enjoy the most important sights from the water, we booked a canal tour. This starts directly at Nyhavn, goes an hour and a guide explains in English the history of the city.
Among others we passed the opera house, which is located on the island Holmen and was built from 2001-2004. After that we saw the famous bronze statue “the little mermaid”. It is based on the 1837 fairy tale of the same name by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. Furthermore, we got to see the beautiful architecture of Christiansborg Palace and the Amalienborg, home of the Danish royal family.
Marie: „For a perfect evening I recommend one of Copenhagens beaches. The sunsets are amazing.“
To end the day perfectly, we decided to take a trip to Amager Beach. The beach park is not far from the city center and it’s simply beautiful to enjoy the sunset during a picnic.
